For the last two years, I have traded my large back garden space to my neighbor in return for lawnmowing.  She gets space to garden, I don't have to mow.

She and her boyfriend just broke up and she is moving out.

I have to mow.  I HATE mowing, and this is a fricking huge lawn.

Is it feasible for you to rip out the grass and replace it with some sort of ground cover that doesn't need mowing?

Well, the good news is, I'm moving halfway across the country in a month or so, so I don't have to KEEP mowing.

Eek. I too hated mowing when I occasionally had to do it (in a very small backyard garden). Can you pay someone else to do it? I know this is a thing privileged people tend to say, but even with less resources...things that stress you out are worth out-sourcing...

I probably will end up doing this, because I got out the mower and it didn't work. (Shocking, I know, after sitting for two years.)

Can't trade it with someone else? (It's the church property, right? Surely they have church members who might be willing to bring the lawnmower out and come by to do a bit of work in exchange for cake?

Hah. I am not a very good cook or baker. And I actually am in the process of getting a new call back home, so this is not a long-term problem.
