Now is the Time to Keep Awake

My J-term class this year was "Music of Spiritual and Religious Formation," a class I highly enjoyed. I chose to write a hymn text instead of a paper, and I finally got it done. Here it is! It's an Advent hymn, obviously, and the tune is "O Savior, Rend the Heavens Wide," #38 in the LBW for you Lutherans out there.

Textbooks--ouch

$394.45 on textbooks so far, and at least another $80 to go--two of the ones I need were on back order. And there are a couple that I didn't have to get because I have copies from college or last semester. (For example, selections from Luther's Works. It's a different edition now, but I really don't think the stuff Luther wrote almost five centuries ago will have changed in the last five years, y'know?)
