I mean that the final statements (like 'it is so') should be used only for something you have some hard evidence of. But as far as it goes 'from such-and-such point of view it is so', of from 'our point of view it is so' - I am OK with any sort of statement. And insults are almost never a good tool to do the job (any job).

One more question:
do you really believe that when Rodney blew up entire planet (trying to make the Ancient weapon to work) it was the result of dogmatic thinking?
For me it was curiosity/overconfidence/arrogance mix.
