My top ten most-read stories on AO3 are:
If I were going to say what my top ten favorite stories of my own I've written are, they would be (in no particular order):
- Lieutenant Bennet's Visit. No surprise there. I am still working on the sequel; it's just real life has been crazy and I have not been feeling inspired at all.
- A League of Their Own. Disney Princess Superheroes. It's a good story, but not my best work. I think the hit count has a lot more to do with it being a Yuletide story with a cool fandom that requires no special knowledge more than anything else.
- Eudaimonia. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. One of my favorite stories, also a Yuletide story. Did you know T:SCC is on SyFy now?
- What You Are (The Certain Point of View Remix). Star Wars. Lots of fun. Character studies of Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Padme.
- TTH Drabbles. What it says on the tin. I'm not sure whether to be surprised or not by this one; on the one hand, lots of different fandoms to pull people in. On the other, it's only a drabble collection and says so.
- A Comfortable Life. Pride and Prejudice, Charlotte as an asexual. I'm glad this one's so read, partly because I think Charlotte tends to get a bum rap in fandom and even in canon. The other reason I'm glad is that it's an ace story where it's not all about sex, which is much truer to life than the vast majority of stories about asexuality one sees in, for example, the Sherlock fandom.
- My Three Good Companions. For Yuletide, quite possibly the very first piece of Rio Bravo fanfic anywhere. And despite the fact that it's a Yuletide fic, I'm surprised to see it on this list. I mean, it's a 1960's John Wayne cowboy movie, which isn't usually a big draw in fannish circles.
- The Desert Between. Angsty Spock/Uhura Reboot fic. Given the number of comments, this one should be higher on the list. But maybe, unlike the Yuletide stories, people are reading at at my DW or LJ?
- A Marriage of True Minds. Sarek/Amanda, slice of life. Really cute and fun.
- A Collection of E-Mails from the SGC Archives (the Wanky Wormhole Remix). The only real comedy I've ever written.
If I were going to say what my top ten favorite stories of my own I've written are, they would be (in no particular order):
- Parallels. Babylon 5/Star Trek: Deep Space 9. "Surely you've heard enough stories of glorious triumphs to recognize the pattern. And to know of the horrors you don't see on the surface." Vir on Minbar, before Sic Transit Vir.
- The Weight of Non-Existent Years. The day before Lieutenant Colonel Samantha Carter leaves for her new post in the Pegasus galaxy, Teal'c comes to her and asks if she will spar with him. (Unending fic)
- Lessons Learned. Anakin and Obi-Wan. Third birthdays, in the temple creche and a slave ship.
- Orphaned Days. The Final Five weren't the only ones Cavil exiled to the Colonies.
- In Spite of All Terror. Most of the details of the worst night of Barbara Gordon's life faded into a surreal blur of darkness and noise, given time. Three things, however, remained absolutely clear.
- A Family Story. (Superman Returns) Jason's three parents have a lot to learn about one another.
- Priorities. (T:SCC) Cameron, at the end of Born to Run. Survival has never been her primary mission.
- The Desert Between. “All Vulcans are constrained. By our biology, by our clans, by our whole society. But women more so than men, and offworlder women married to Vulcan men most of all.” Nyota loves Spock. But she can’t have him without taking Vulcan culture, too.
- The Storyteller (Big Fish) The biggest fish in the river gets that way by not getting caught.
- To The Lord I Will Sing (Bible, Old Testament). Deborah and Miriam: singing the word of the Lord in times of trial.
