Thank you for reviewing! I like it when Troi is competent at her job--so much of the time, both on the show and in fanfic, she is shown as either unethical or incompetent as a therapist, (always because the people writing no nothing about psychology and the role of a counselor), simply because it helps move the plot along. So I wanted to make sure I handled Data well (and boy, is there a lot of stuff in that two-parter that was never addressed!) and I wanted Troi to be there and good at her job.
