Supergirl 3x05: Damages

I like this season MUCH better than last season, holy cow, no more Mon-El!  Yay!

I am really UPSET that Alex and Maggie are breaking up, but if they HAVE to break them up, this is the way to do it.  Neither one is evil or bad or wrong, they just want different things out of life, and facing that means acknowledging that for them to be together one of them (but only one) is going to have to make major sacrifices ... and much as they love each other, that's not worth it.  It's the sort of mature adult breakup I wish more shows had ... except why do they have break up the sweet lesbian couple?

I was ALL ABOUT the James/Kara in season one, and HATED that they dropped it in season 2, but I was sort of conflicted by the end of the season because I'd also started shipping Kara/Lena.  And now, as of the end of Damages and the way Lena and James talked at the end, I am on the OT3 train.  Please tell me there is lots of James/Kara/Lena fic?

I am several weeks behind, this is the latest ep I've seen, and I have successfully avoided being spoiled, so I can't tell you what's ahead. But so far, he's been absent.

I watched the last, 3x08, For Reasons. ;)

It's not that I hate Mon-El himself; I hate what the writers are doing to Kara to make her swoon over him. So as long as she mopes and thinks he was such a prize...I just don't like Kara that much. If the show kept Mon-El, but not in a romantic relationship with Kara, who's Over Him, I'd be, so to speak, super.

The way I heard it, one of the actresses is leaving the show in order to stop getting hate about playing a visibly and happily queer character.

Mature adult break-up is totally the Watsonian way to handle that Doylistic conundrum.

PS, I would read more James/Kara/Lena fic, but what I have seen so far are PWPs...which almost never cuts it for me, the Slow Burn Lover*.

What episode does Maggie leave in? I started watching this season, couldn't handle the pending breakup (especially during the same-sex marriage survey crap that we had recently) and plan to come back when it's done!
