I am so used to reading fanfic that reading dead-tree books gives me trouble. I know how long it takes me to read 50,000 words of fiction, but books don't have word counts, they have page counts! So I don't know how much time to budget per novel!
So I have looked it up. And here, for your edification, is the result:
A paperback gets about 300-350 words/page
A trade paperback or hardcover gets about 350-400 words/page
Which means that the 291-page trade paperback I'm reading right now is probably between 101,850-116,400 words.
