X-Men First Class
Jul. 30th, 2011 11:38 pmSo, I finally saw X-Men First Class. It's a great movie. I get the shiny-slashy-Erik/Charles.
But. What I really want to read is stuff about Raven/Mystique. For example, forget all the "Charles and Erik have a regular chess match every week for decades." What I really want is "Mystique comes to Westchester regularly to talk with Hank about being mutant and proud, and also being blue." Because seriously, there are so many issues there.
Also, I'm assuming that (given the skin color and the powers) that Nightcrawler is the son of Mystique and Azazel? How did that happen? How did he end up in the circus? Or an AU where Mystique realizes that she can't raise a kid while on the run, that she wants him to have a stable home life, and so she sends him to her brother.
Or a futurefic set after X-3 where the X-men realize that Charles left a good chunk of change/a small house on the grounds/whatever to Mystique and/or Erik, and someone then has to go find them and tell them and figure out how the heck this is going to work.
Or a fic about Raven's life after she came to the Xavier mansion. How did Charles convince his parents? What was Raven's relationship with them like? How was that similar to/different from her biological parents? Did they know she was a mutant? Was she treated as a member of the family or as a charity case?
Also, I'd like something--anything!--where Darwin didn't die. I'm glad he was a hero, and died for a purpose, but I can't help noticing that the only hero to die in the whole movie is the token black guy who doesn't even make it to the final climactic battle.
Surely, in all the floods of Charles/Erik, there is something like this?
(Also, I have this scene in my head where Phoenix didn't kill Professor X, she sent his consciousness back in time to the middle of this whole mess, and the first thing that Professor X with decades of experience and hindsight does is tell his sister that she is beautiful no matter what face she wears, and she doesn't have to hide around him, and she is beautiful both inside and out and mean it, not as a way to try and manipulate her to stay but because it's a regret he's always had, that he didn't say it when he had a chance.)
