This was a neat trip down memory lane. It reminded me that a local yarn store was using an imprinter until about three years ago -- they would run the card electronically, but also do an imprint to make carbon copies, and handwrite out the items purchased and use a calculator to calculate the sales tax and total cost of the purchase, and then manually update an inventory ledger with what items they'd just sold.
