Oh, totally on the gatekeeping thing. And, you know, everybody writes bad-fic when they're starting to write, and so shaming/gatekeeping about it prevents people from writing; but I do wish that I didn't have to wade through it. That's what sorting by hits or kudos or comments or bookmarks is supposed to fix!
