Been saving this one to read. Interesting, that Vulcans had joined Starfleet sooner in this 'verse; I think that's the first Reboot fic I've seen make such a supposition, most assume Vulcan pulled even further away from the Federation due to the prejudice. But speedier integration does make just as much sense as the alternative.

Interesting alteration in the timeline, too. In canon!verse, the Romulans might have begun taking the first Vulcan ships about that time, but no mixed heritage children would have been born yet, if I have my timelines down, but it does make sense that they might have started the project(s) on Theirrull earlier due to Nero. (Hmmm. Might have to think about that concept for a fic I'm working on.)

Loved the concept overall, and the closing line. Well done.
